prettiness bedside
Hubby is out of town so sister and I spent the last two days in shopping bliss. I picked up a new lamp from Back Home for my bedside table yesterday. And my sister was right, I woke up happy looking at it.
I brought this childhood picture out just to remind myself of simpler times. And the sterling antique leaf dish is an heirloom from my Great Aunt who worked at Neiman Marcus decades ago. The pearls are a gift from my husband and I wore them on my wedding day. And the cork shade on the lamp, well, it does remind me of my favorite sound. Pop... Wishing you a weekend of prettiness and happiness!

I'll have surgery end of this week and will need time to recover! Nothing to worry about, just a little time consuming.
I will try to read your blogs and I hope you have a wonderful time in May!
I see you all as soon as possible!
Take care!

a room with all the things a girl loves
framed photos, books, fresh flowers, orchid, sparkling chandelier, daybed, a hermes blanket, touches of hot pink, natural light... what's not to L O V E?

Border drama
| After the rain dramatic light |
Well, I am not talking of any horrible conflict, but rather of the dramatic going-ons in our neighborhood, where colors wildly explode and blossoms compete...
It's, of course, a peaceful battle and the only weapons, I can see, are planting tools and the leaf blowers, although these, in my opinion, should be on the international banned list, for they create so much unnecessary noise. Oh, how much I prefer a good old rake...
The dog pulled me in excited sniffing mode from one tree to the next, but I still had enough time to take in all the beauty around me and the realization of spring's enormous potency.
It is overwhelmingly pretty and I love to see nature's progress.

It has been raining a lot last week, something I am grateful for, it had been too dry over the last months.

In summer and winter I absolutely adore that little garden house under the big tree!

I can't help but look at some of the pretties around while I am on my walk with our old boy...

And finally we turn the corner - we are home!
May joyful colors greet you wherever you are and the battles are peaceful ones around you! Happy Sunday!

a love story ends
I have to share a touching story. On Tuesday, Granddaddy passed
away, somewhat unexpectedly. And after she was told by her best friend that
her husband had died, Granny took her last breath passing away just hours
after Granddaddy. They were both ill, in separate specialized facilities.

Granny had brutally battled cancer for six years and within the last year,
Granddaddy swiftly declined in health from Alzheimer's. Granny loved
Granddaddy so much that she just couldn't leave him. Now may they live
